New Look: “Jurassic World Rebirth”

Universal is giving us our first look at a new era in the Jurassic cinematic universe. “Jurassic World Rebirth” is the next film in the series, in theaters this summer on July 2, starring Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey.

This newest installment picks up five years after the “Jurassic World” trilogy left off. It sees an extraction team race to the most dangerous place on Earth, an island research facility for the original Jurassic Park, inhabited by the worst of the worst dinosaurs that were left behind.

“Jurassic World Rebirth” has some powerhouse storytelling behind it. It’s directed by Gareth Edwards, the visionary behind “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”, from a script by original “Jurassic Park” screenwriter David Koepp.

Scarlet Johansson portays a skilled cover operations expert that’s been contracted to lead a team on a secret mission to secure genetic material left behind at the original Jurassic Park. She and her team come across a family whose boat capsizes near the island, launching them all into danger as they come face-to-face with some of the most significant foes yet in the Jurassic series.
